Jump in the boat...and go for it...

There are two very important situations to which this applies, but Mrs. Chapman (one of my role models) told me the "Get in the Boat" story today so I figured I would find it online and post it, in case anyone else needs it.

The story…

A man is floating in deep water in the aftermath of a flood. A rowboat approaches and the occupants cry, “Get in! We’ll take you to dry land!”

The man replies, “No, no…Thank you, I have an unwavering Faith that God will save me!”

He has ‘dog-paddled’ for another hour when a life raft almost full to capacity comes into view and these aquatic sojourners also exclaim, “We’re coming….hold on! We can make room for you!”

Again, our tiring but faithful protagonist replies,

“Thank you, but I don’t need your help. God will reach down His hand and save me when He is ready.”

About an hour after the raft has disappeared, with its shrugging seafarers, the man tires, slips under the waves and drowns.

Upon reaching the Pearly Gates he asks of God, “I have always had such Faith in You. Why did You not save me?”

To which God replies,

“Dude…I sent you a boat…..TWO boats….!! C’mon!!”

Friend's Devotional

Okay, so my friend Rebekah shared a much needed devotional on facebook and so I'm sharing it on here too.

Eccl. 3:11 " God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end."

"If clouds are full of water, they pour rain upon the earth" -Eccl 11:3

"If we believe the message of this verse, then why do we dread the clouds that darken the sky? It is true that for a while the dark clouds hide the sun, but it is not extinguished and it will soon shine again. Meanwhile those clouds are filled with rain, and the darker they are, the more likely they are to bring plentiful showers.

How can we have rain without clouds? Our troubles have always brought us blessings, and they always will, for they are the dark chariots of God's bright and glorious grace. Our God may drench us with grief, but he will refresh us with his mercy......so let us now worry about the clouds. Instead let us sing because May flowers are brought to us through April clouds and showers."

Blog Future

I want you all to add this blog to your blog roll or whatever it is called. Although I have had this for a long time, I am still clueless (b/c I haven't tried to figure it out) about RSS feeds and subscribing, etc. I figure the reason I am not motivated to write on this is because I know it is not read by many people that I love. That is mainly b/c I haven't made it known besides adding the link on my facebook along time ago. It wasn't a very active way to inform people.

I want this site to be used to share prayer requests, praises, life, memories, fun times, hard times, and whatever else. I want to be able to look back on this and see how God has moved in my life and in others lives as well. I am constantly needing people to pray for me and want to share those on here since there is not another way I have found to share with a wide group of people (outside of my close group of friends). I know that I need this, and that is why I know you need it as well so please share. You can email, write letters, call, it doesn't all have to be online. I would prefer it to not be online, rather that this is a catalyst for deeper personal relationship.
